Law of Attraction secret to “tell a new story”

by Caryl Westmore on May 17, 2010

After a glorious six summer months in South Africa, yesterday we flew from Cape Town to London Heathrow  – arriving just six hours ahead of  the closing of the airport due to to continuing fallout from the Icelandic volcano.

How did we miss disappointment and frustration by six hours?  With a key Law of Attraction secret:
“Tell a story about” what you Do WANT rather than what you DO NOT WANT.
We booked out tickets last year. And even though we became aware about the airports in UK/Europe closing since April due to the volcano, we chose NOT to focus on it with worry or fear. In fact not to put any attention on it at all.
MY GOOD TRAVEL “STORY”
I continuously envisaged the easy trip home, looking forward to wonderful ways to live the life I love once back in the UK. Especially I was excited to be attending the Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner Course with Karl Dawson in Brighton. I paid my deposit and emailed him to expect me a week after I landed back in the UK.
And this time next week that’s where I’ll be!
BEST LOA SECRET
Let me share the wonderful secret of how my life continues to flow in the upbeat positive stream of the Law of Attraction. It’s about appreciating and intending and then telling myself and others the best STORY of my life I can imagine and then create.
It is best described by my mentors Abraham-Hicks in their book “Money & The Law of Attraction“.
I sent an email today to someone I love reminding them about the power of this “secret” when it comes to their work situation.
Abraham says: “Anytime what you are doing feels like struggle, you must understand that your contradictory thought is introducing resistance into the equation. And resistance is caused by thinking about what you do not want, and that is what makes you tired.”
EXAMPLE OF CHANGING THE STORY
OLD STORY
“I’ve always worked hard in every job I’ve had but I’ve never really being appreciated. It seems to me that employers always take advantage of me…Many of the people around me know less than I do, work less hard than I work, yet earn more than I do. That’s just not right…”

NEW STORY
“I know I will not always be in this place doing this same work. I like understanding that things are always evolving, and it is fun to anticipate where I am headed.
While there are many things that could be better where I am, it is not really a problem because “where I am” is constantly changing to something better. I like knowing that while I look for the best things around me where I am, those things become more prevalent in my experience. It is fun to know that things are always working out for me, and I watch for the evidence of that…and I see more evidence of that every day.”
They continue:
“There is no right or wrong way to tell your improved story. It can be about your past, present or future experiences. The only criterion that is important is that you  be conscious of your intent to TELL A BETTER-FEELING, IMPROVED VERSION OF YOUR STORY.By telling many good feeling short stories throughout your day, you will change your point of attraction.

“Each and every component that makes up your life experience is drawn to you by the powerful Law of Attraction’s response to the thoughts you think and the story you tell about your life. Your money and financial assets; your body’s state of wellness, clarity, flexibility, size, and shape; how you are treated, work satisfaction, and rewards – is all happening because of the story that you tell. If you will let your dominant intention be to improve and revise the content of your story you tell everyday of your life, it is out absolute promise to you that your life will become the ever improving story. For by the powerful LAW OF ATTRACTION, it must be.”
I’d love to hear YOUR take on how changing your story changed your situation or life. Please leave a comment and share.

Next Top Spiritual Author: 8 days left

by Caryl Westmore on April 23, 2010

Only 8 days remain in the Next Top Spiritual Author competition: Round One

What have I learned so far by entering my book You Can Break-Free Fast?

*That asking OUT LOUD for support from those you know is challenging
How do you process the ones that ignore you? How hard do you canvass and follow up on your emails?
* That it feels good to step up and out front with your BIG DREAMS
* That you need to “let go and let God” about outcome
* I have long had a dream of being published by Hay House – so does that mean I am not so committed to this competition with a lesser known publisher? No way. Who knows where the right Agent and Publisher are waiting to spot my entry – or find me in some other way?
Martha Beck talks about the woman who felt lonely for a soul-mate friend and left her book on a plane where it a stranger picked it up, phoned her and you’ve guessed it – became that very friend.
Another self-published author gave her book as a present and it was left on a park bench where… guess what? – the man who became her agent found it?

In a previous post and emails I compared myself to Susan Boyle. At least one person who knows me said it was “sad” that I thought so little of myself. Hey – what do you think? I see it differently. But it made me pause and reflect – what do I really think about myself?

Answer: I’m a first time baby boomer self help author coming “from unknown” to recognition. And expression of my talents.

Where is my self-worth pegged?

So let me ask you again, if you haven’t already voted for my book – please help me by voting for me – and claiming your free Skype session to break-free fast.
