What have I learned so far by entering my book You Can Break-Free Fast?
*That asking OUT LOUD for support from those you know is challenging
How do you process the ones that ignore you? How hard do you canvass and follow up on your emails?
* That it feels good to step up and out front with your BIG DREAMS
* That you need to “let go and let God” about outcome
* I have long had a dream of being published by Hay House – so does that mean I am not so committed to this competition with a lesser known publisher? No way. Who knows where the right Agent and Publisher are waiting to spot my entry – or find me in some other way?
Martha Beck talks about the woman who felt lonely for a soul-mate friend and left her book on a plane where it a stranger picked it up, phoned her and you’ve guessed it – became that very friend.
Another self-published author gave her book as a present and it was left on a park bench where… guess what? – the man who became her agent found it?
In a previous post and emails I compared myself to Susan Boyle. At least one person who knows me said it was “sad” that I thought so little of myself. Hey – what do you think? I see it differently. But it made me pause and reflect – what do I really think about myself?
Answer: I’m a first time baby boomer self help author coming “from unknown” to recognition. And expression of my talents.
Where is my self-worth pegged?

Susan Boyle – why does her story appeal to millions of us so powerfully?
Because she took a risk to follow her heart and enter the You Got Talent competition last year. Over 40 and by no means a model beauty. But shining from inside and with a voice to match.
Because she was an outsider – not particularly attractive nor assertive by nature.
Because she came second but won our hearts and lucrative contracts to showcase her singing.
Yes she was gifted with a voice. But more than that came the desire to fan a burning desire and fulfill her wildest dreams. Her nervous system was not primed for stardom and the stresses of the You’ve Got Talent Competition. But she did it anyway.
Ask yourself – what excuses are you still telling yourself about a deeply held dream in YOUR heart right now?
Take one risk today towards it.
I did that this week when I entered the Next Top Spiritual Author competition along with thousands of others.
Why? Because I BELIEVE in my message and in giving my book the best shot I can. I’m older than Susan Boyle. But taking a shot at being a best-selling author based on you heart-felt message is good enough for me to push on with my dream.

Lacking money? Then check for lack of people prosperity! I was reminded of the link between how we attract and handle – or mishandle money -and our thoughts, beliefs and feelings connected with people in our life, past and present from Joan Sotkin recently. Her ideas at Prosperity Place expanded my thinking as I go into my phase of workshops and talks, press interviews to launch my book You Can Break-Free Fast in South Africa this month.
While I get MIRACULOUS results with my 3-step You Can Break-Free Fast process containing the tool of EFT Tapping to source and release “what set this up” as a block in the present – inevitably it’s the metaphors and memories from the past that hold the secret to help you get clear and break free.
So it struck a chord to read Joan’s insights as to how banks can be parent substitutes and work and business situations carbon copies of our family of origin.
She says:
“If you’re having a problem with someone at work, examine how the problem relates to conflicts you had with family members.If you have your own business, then your relationships with your customers will be a reflection of your relationships with your family of origin or other close relationships.
You’re asking them to acknowledge and support you. If your customers like what you have to offer, they’ll express their pleasure by exchanging money for your goods or services. If you had a balanced love relationship with your family, that will be reflected in a healthy business. If, on the other hand, your parents died or divorced when you were young, or if you were abused or in any way abandoned, you may have more trouble establishing a comfortable and consistent money flow in your business”.
Of course tied in with fear of rejection from others is the core issue of loving and accepting YOU. FORGIVENESS, SELF ACCEPTANCE AND LOVE OF SELF comes top of the list as you do EFT Tapping. You say it till you mean it right in the set up phrase and believe me this sets you up for success.
